Terms of Service for Mealheim

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Mealheim application ("Mealheim" or the "App"), provided by Norse Ventures LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, accessing, or using Mealheim, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Use of the App

Mealheim is a meal planning and recipe management application that allows you to create, store, and organize meals, import recipes, and plan your weekly meals. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the App for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.

2. User Content and Cloud Storage

All content you create with Mealheim, including meals, recipes, ingredients, instructions, images, and meal plans ("User Content"), is stored on your device and/or your personal iCloud account via Apple CloudKit. While your User Content syncs through iCloud, we do not access or use it without your explicit permission. You are solely responsible for your User Content and the consequences of creating and storing it.

You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary licenses, rights, consents, and permissions to your User Content. You agree not to create any content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, defamatory, obscene, infringing, or otherwise objectionable.

By using Mealheim, you grant us a non-exclusive, transferable, sublicensable, worldwide, royalty-free license to store and manage your User Content solely for the purpose of providing the Services to you.

3. Recipe Import Feature

Mealheim includes a recipe import feature that allows you to import recipes from websites by providing a URL. When you use this feature:

  • The URL you provide is sent to our recipe extraction service for processing.
  • URLs are processed transiently and are not stored after the recipe data is returned.
  • You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to import and use any recipe content.
  • Imported recipes are for your personal use only.

4. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

Mealheim may offer premium features through in-app purchases or subscriptions. By making a purchase:

  • You agree to pay the applicable fees as displayed in the App.
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
  • You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings.
  • Refunds are subject to Apple's refund policies.

5. AI Features

Mealheim uses on-device artificial intelligence powered by Apple's FoundationModels framework to provide features such as meal suggestions and automatic tagging. All AI processing occurs locally on your device; your data is not sent to external servers for AI processing.

6. Privacy and Data Protection

We are committed to protecting your privacy and data. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for detailed information on how we collect, use, and protect your information.

7. Intellectual Property

The Mealheim App, including its design, features, and underlying code, is the exclusive property of Norse Ventures LLC and its licensors, protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not modify, copy, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our App.

8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

Mealheim is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Norse Ventures LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, whether incurred directly or indirectly, resulting from your use of the App.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the App is limited to the amount you paid us for the use of the App.

Recipe import functionality relies on third-party websites and may not always work perfectly. We are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or availability of recipes from external sources.

9. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Norse Ventures LLC is registered, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

10. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make changes, we will provide notice through the App or by updating the date at the top of these Terms. Your continued use of the App after any modification constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
